The essentials to your healthiest life- it comes back to the basics

February 23, 2022

It’s overwhelming the sheer amount information available to us when it comes to health and wellness. The truth is it’s the basics that go most overlooked….there is no supplement, cleanse, or product that can outpace and fix a bad lifestyle. Today I want to talk about just that- the basics. When I speak to clients I don’t put them on a ton of new potions, products or supplements, we start with three things 1) what they are eating and 2)their stress levels . that is it. Getting back to the basics of wellness basics can undoubtedly improve your health and happiness. Here are the essentials

  • Prioritize whole-food nutrition. Most items in grocery stores have added sugar and nasty oils. Shop the parameter of your grocery- produce, protein, and the bulk aisle. Stay away form packaged foods
  • Eliminate sugar – I suggest going cold turkey. I recommend stevia (just stevia, no additives), or natural sugars, I like coconut.
  • Hydate – often hunger and anxiety masks as lack of hydration
  • Prioritizing high-protein foods at every meal. I am for 20g. It increases satiety and ultimately less cravings
  • Exercising regularly and move throughout the day, I am a big fan of exercise snacks. 20 mins of consistent movement is key. It’s consistency, not killing yourself
  • Get 7-8 hours of sleep on a consistent schedule
  • Getting daily exposure to sunlight, first thing in the aim
  • Add a good quality salt to your diet, I wrote about that here. I like Redmonds Real Salt or LMNT. You’ll notice improvements across the board
  • Minimizing time spent on social media and consuming the news.
  • Prioritizing cooking at home vs eating out. Restaurants (yes all of them) use inflammatory oils.
  • Find purpose in your life – I work with my clients on finding meaning and joy. This mostly starts with a daily meditation and gratitude practice and builds into purpose.
  • And that leads to minimize stress. For me, that’s a combination of meditation, a gratitude practice and exercise. You have to find what works for you.

I’ve found my clients respond really well to taking apple cider vinegar before meals, for those that don’t love taking a swig (who does?), Goli makes apple cider vinegar gummies which are yummy dn good for you. Use exclusive code The Glow Wellness to save 10%

Those are the fundamentals that have radically improved my quality of life. I hope they benefit you too!
