 I was fortunate (I see that now) to be told at a VERY young age I had to make my own way (think 2 jobs starting at 14, struggling through college working 3 jobs with a double major). It gave me DRIVE. I don’t lack in that area. I was also lucky to have a great mentor in my first year in college in my B-School Advertising class - one of the great founding fathers of Advertising. (He actually came up with the Pillsbury Dough Boy)! I ended up being mentored by him at Grey and working in the ad capital of the world (Chicago) as an intern. 👩🏻‍💻 Fast forward to crazy stressful deadlines, an Ad Exec career spanning 20 years. Did I love it? Yes! I still do. But I also felt like my personal world was evolving. I took a keen interest in wellness and health right before the big wellness “boom”. So I decided to go back to school and become a health coach. 🥗 Quickly thereafter I knew I could meld my education, and EXPERIENCE with my PERSONAL pursuits. It is all possible. I promise this. Like I say here, just begin simply… * Make a list of everything you love in life. but be precise - specifically WHAT LIGHTS YOU UP. * Then think about possible career options you can make out of this. * Bonus, if you can tie this to your actual work experience. Then go confidently in the direction of your dreams. * Make small moves every day like prioritizing learning everything you can about this step in a new direction * Read, seek mentors, take training, skill up, and strive for your next chapter. Make your move and say YES! 🙌🏻 This is the key to a great life, and you will never “work’ a day in your life when you love what you do. ❤️

It’s never too late to be what you might have been. (Part 1) I am celebrating 10 years of owning my own business 🥳 Was it easy to leap? No. Is it easy? No, not for a second. But it’s so rewarding. Here’s the thing, find what you love and make it your work and I promise you will never work another day in your life. ⛅️ For me that was melding my 25+ years experience in advertising and marketing for agencies, and marketing firms, with my love of all things beauty, health and wellness. 💗 Over the years I worked with many high profile clients in the fashion, lifestyle and financial space. That gave me the confidence that I knew my stuff. But it’s probably the leap that’s the hardest. How to fall in love with your life. Stop Thinking Start Feeling. It’s that simple. It starts with mindfulness; and going “in” what does that mean exactly? I lost all four of my grandparents very early in life, something that makes me quite sad as they never got to see me grow up. 😢 The death of my grandfather always strikes a chord as he died of prostate cancer. Because cancer has touched my family in such a profound way, cancer has always been top of mind. The awareness of cancer is prevalent, it seems to touch everyone. Yet there isn’t much talk about the effectiveness of cancer screening at early detection in the fight against the deadly disease. I encourage all my family and friends to talk to their doctors about getting screened. 🔑 There are free and low-cost cancer screenings available to those without health insurance or those with high deductible health plans. I spent A DECADE largely in fight or flight mode while building my career. But now at 48, I no longer have the desire to work in ways that put my health at risk. This is 48. Its always so surprising to me because in my mind I’m still 28 (maybe that’s part of the secret 💫) I’m finding getting older refreshing - coming into my own. Today I’m posting a makeup and filter free selfie I never would’ve had the guts to post years ago. Each year brings me closer to my true essence. Less work Less consumption More laughter More spontaneity More sunshine More feeling at home in my body More ❤️ More cake More of life More enjoying (More of everything GOOD!) I love where I am now. Make this simple change if you’re looking to improve your health - at any age Let’s face it, as I am approaching 50 (wow, how did that happen), living a healthy lifestyle is critical….. I want to be strong, healthy, agile, happy. I want to be able to do all the things I want to do, with ease. So I often get asked by women my age (and all ages, really) what can I do to improve my health? Here’s the thing, I could rattle off a laundry list. But what’s one simple thing you can do today to TAKE BACK YOUR HEALTH. It’s this: 🥘Cooking for yourself. When I was working in Manhattan and eating out multiple times a week (often at 9/10 pm, with late night drinks, travel, work meetings after hours etc) I didn’t feel well. The same with working long hours, commuting, and eating on the run. Same could be said for busy parents. In your own kitchen 1. shopping for and preparing foods brings a sense of joy to the whole process, knowing you can fuel yourself properly 2. you’re the boss of exactly what goes on your plate (and what doesn’t) I want you to feel in control of what you eat, to take care of yourself. And have that in turn have a ripple effect on your whole life… because it will! I promise you you can still have wonderful indulgences, eating out when you want, and eating for JOY. But start with eating for your HEALTH. Take time to show yourself you care about YOU….and I know that it can affect every aspect of your life.
